Save the Date for the 2020 Blooming Bash!

Join us on March 21 for the Blooming Bash, the ECS PCO’s adult-only fundraising and social event and biggest fundraiser! This year’s event will support the PCO general fund so we are able to provide wonderful family programming and support our ECS staff. Enjoy a night out with drinks, munchies, dancing, games, silent auctions, raffles, and more.

Tickets available now!

While you are out shopping this holiday season (or receive a gift that you might not need), please keep the Blooming Bash in mind! When school resumes in January, we will start collecting items to fill themed gift baskets to be auctioned off during the event. We’ll share collection logistics in the new year. Our baskets will all be built around two larger themes: Family Fun and Get Outdoors. More info.

ECS 5th Grade Winter Coat Drive

With holiday spirit and kindness in mind, fifth grade is collecting new or gently used coats, gloves, blankets, and comforters to donate to Free Store Wilkinsburg. We have talked a lot about gratitude, and are collecting in order to show kindness and share with our community. Our collection window is December 3-17 at the ECS Intermediate School.

Lost and Found items

Wondering where your kid’s sweatshirt, left shoe, or jacket ended up? Check the Lost & Found! Each ECS building has a system for collecting lost and found items.

Primary School: Check the large bin (deck box) on the 2nd floor. You or your student can check anytime (make sure you sign in at the office). Every few weeks, items are displayed in the 1st floor foyer.

Intermediate School: Check the collection in the main office. Every few weeks, items are displayed onstage in the cafe so that students can retrieve their lost belongings.

Middle School: Lost & found items are currently collected on the stage, behind the curtain. This will likely change – stay tuned for details.

Our amazing, hardworking volunteers often post photo displays of sorted items on the ECS Parent Facebook page HERE.

Unclaimed items are donated to the ECS uniform re-use sale, or to local charities.

Efforts are made to reunite owners with lost items that are labeled with full names. Please label your belongings of all sorts with full names. Might we suggest Emily Press Labels? They can be affixed to most any surface – even tagless shirts. Any purchase benefits the PCO, too! More information HERE.

3. Use white 8.5 x 11″ computer paper only.
4. Be neat, and more importantly, BE CREATIVE!
5. Turn it in to the office by December 16.
6. Make sure you include the school name (ECS or Environmental Charter School), 2019-2020, and K-5 Yearbook in your cover design.
