How and Why To Get Clearances
The Board of Public Education requires all parent volunteers, contractors, sub contractors, consultant or any type of outside service provider to have three sets of clearances to volunteer, work or accompany students to an off site setting.
FBI Clearance - $33.00
Criminal Clearance - $10.00
Child Abuse Clearance - $10.00
FBI, Child Abuse and Criminal Clearances are needed for the following activities:
Individuals do not need clearances for:
If you intend to chaperone any of your children's activities please apply for your clearances prior to needing them. Clearances can take up to three weeks to receive via the USPS.

- Room parents
- Assisting in a classroom
- Chaperoning an event
- Driving a team/group or individual student
- Field Trips
- Hikes
- Running or helping with a club
- Any time you may be alone in the school (Wednesday folders, preparing classroom materials, clearing lost and found, etc).
Individuals do not need clearances for:
- Attending a classroom presentation or party
- Attending a school sponsored event (such as field day)
- Reading to a class
- Birthday Party/Classroom Party
- Classroom Demonstration
